Today was the most spectacular and long walk so far. From Lynmouth to Coombe Martin. After I had mucked about getting some food and walking up one of the rocks in the Valley of the Rocks, I did not get going properly until nearly 11.30. On reflection for the distance too late. I walked to Woody Bay & the onto Hunters Inn where I had a beautiful Kate & mushroom pie. That took a further hour, so I did not reach Great Man Hanging until about 7.30 pm. It is the highest part of the South West Coastal Path. I finally got into Coombe Martin at 9pm but took another hour to get a taxi to Paracombe where the B&B was. I have seen some beautiful country side, experienced sun, rainbows, gales and lashing rain. It’s been bloody marvellous xx

I will be retiring again after a lifetime in the NHS and returning in 2016, because my pension wasn’t going far enough. ( I am a WASPI woman) I live in Northampton with my husband Andy & we have one daughter who lives with her partner in London. I am a keen walker and completed 300 miles of the Southwest Coastal path through August in 2015 Due to returning to work, illness of my father I have only just sorted doing the second half next June/July. As before I will record my journey from Poole, Dorset back to St Just, Cornwall. View all posts by northcote9
