Day 4 Wet & windy

After falling into a comatosed sleep. I found it difficult to get out of bed this morning. The B&B was again lovely and I had andy’s cabs picking me up and dropping me back to Coombe Martin. Will know better next time not to book accommodation £30 away from from your finishing point.  Anyway he set me down where I finished and I duly started walking up the coastal path; until I realised some thing was not quite right. Or rather left. As I have said before keep the sea on your right but now it was on my left! I needed  to be over the other side of the headland!!!!!!

Back down again and off I go. The rain showers kept drifting over so my coat was on and off like a yo yo. Short walk really today in comparison with yesterday. So when the heavens opened I stopped in a cafe at Hele Cove ( it’s pronounced Heel) and waited it out. Finally got to the hostel and to my surprise was sharing a dorm. Though I thought I had booked a separate room. This was fine, except when I tried to engage anyone in conversation they ignored me and were completely silent. So I went down stairs and asked if I could change rooms. Ended up in a room for eight, with a mystery suitcase which will reveal its owner at some point. Also luggage transfer failed for the first time so thought I would have to try the inside out knicker trick but luckily with some frantic phone calls it arrived!

Then out into Ilfracombe and had the best sea bass I have ever tasted. Then to the yachting club ( don’t ask ) where I met a great couple Val & Martin. I also saw the amazing statue of Verity, love or hate her she is amazing and very dramatic. So to bed before the mystery guest arrives
